Qualifications:
Shall have a minimum of five (5) years previous experience in telecommunications with an emphasis on VSAT operations, maintenance, and installation work.
Experience in DVB-RCS VSAT based systems is preferred.
Graduate of Electronics and Communications engineering.
Proven previous experience in all aspects of Vsat and Data communication networks.
Ability to understand and work with software applications.
Fully PC literate with Datacoms and IP exposure
Driver.
Self assertive and able to work under pressure on unfamiliar tasks.
Able to work independently or in a team environment.
Desirable
Knowledge of latest Vsat capabilities and applications.
Knowledge of Outdoor equipment, HPA’s, Antennas and earth station commissioning.
Knowledge of indoor equipment, Modems, Muxs, Switches and related software
Knowledge of Data networks, design, implementation and application, VPN’s, WAN, LAN and Wireless solutions
Knowledge of data network components, routers, switches, hubs, Proven Configuration Skills and software implementation
Understand and implement IP address Plans on data network hardware.
Good interpersonal skills
Overall knowledge of Satellite communications is a must.
Task Description:
Personally Install , support , configure , fault find, implement and repair Electronic Vsat and Data network equipment.
Configuration, testing and fault finding of satellite modems, VoIP unit, data switches, Ku-band RF units and UPS.
Experience in installing, commissioning and fault finding of Seatel offshore stabilized antenna systems.
Experience in installing, commissioning and fault finding of AVL Auto Acquisition antenna system
Keep seniors up to date with information on spares and technical reports, documentation, Etc
Providing liaison and support to customers both written and verbal on and off site.
Supervision and Training of Installers both on and off site.
