Qualifications:
Has successfully completed 2 years program at an approved school for Radiologic Technology.
Passed the examination given by the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.), or equivalent certification from the country of origin.
Two (2) years practical experience in Radiologic Technology under a qualified Radiologist.
Hand and arm dexterity, eye and hand coordination are required.
Task Description:
Reviews radiologic requests to determine the region(s) to be examined and the radiographic projections to be taken, based on the patient’s history, departmental guidelines, physician’s recommendations, patient’s condition and independent judgement.
Arranges for appropriate patient flow to & from assigned clinical area.
Transports, prepares & positions patients using care, tact, courtesy & patience.
Adjusts, manipulates and controls a variety of highly technological and costly radiographic equipment and accessories for Radiographic procedure to obtain optimum quality images as prescribed in the departmental procedure manual.
Ensures proper patient safety by utilizing special equipment or accessories for diagnostic imaging procedure.
Reviews processed resultant diagnostic images for optimal quality & assists in quality control by participating in the divisional quality control program.
