HEAD of department - SALES
DIVISION/ FUNCTION: Sales
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Direct Supervision of: Regional Manager(s)
Branch Manager(s)
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
This position shall be responsible to -
develop and drive sales strategy and growth initiatives that support the expansion of the company’s products and services in the markets/ geographies
drive the sales force to ensure successful growth, profitability and achievement of business goals
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develops the sales strategies, plans, policies and processes aligned to the company’s overall strategy and vision, and ensure their effective implementation
2. Develops in co-ordination with Marketing and Finance, sales budgets and oversees the development and management of internal operating budgets
3. Develops accurate sales forecasts for annual net sales by value, quantity/ product mix, profitability and key account. Drives, supports, monitors and controls a detailed sales business plan for the regions and the branches
4. Works closely with Marketing and Business Development to develop, establish and direct channel and distribution strategies and programs, and ensure that these strategies are effectively implemented at the regional and branch levels
5. Provides solid and aggressive market penetration strategies, and builds a full pipeline of qualified sales prospects
6. Develops effective and efficient sales processes
7. Performs sales reporting, measurement, follow up and achieve sales results by product mix and geography in line with the Marketing strategy
8. Motivates the sales team at all levels by resolving conflicts, removing barriers and providing positive recognition and feedback to achieve and surpass sales targets
9. Continually coaches the sales team to bring discipline into the selling process and to ensure that the team always contains consists of competent, engaged, effective and productive staff
10. Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results
11. Communicates to the Marketing department any new encountered opportunities and post sales feedback on major sales and customer accounts
12. Develops special pricing policies in co-ordination with the Marketing department. Controls and monitors sales, pricing, credit etc. by product line, geography and customer
13. Co-ordinate with Supply Chain to ensure ‘no stock outs’ and opportunity loss by ensuring accurate material forecasting
14. Achieves maximum efficiency on receivable collection control with full adherence to customer credit terms and conditions
15. Monitors sales reports, measurement, follows up and achieves sales results by products and geography
16. Develops methods to measure and ensure overall customer satisfaction
17. Leverages key and other alliance relationships that delivers incremental revenue opportunities to sales
18. Evaluates the performance and ensures training and development of the team in line with the succession planning objectives
19. Perform other duties as required

MBA/ BA/ BE
Relevant Experience/ Training :
12-15 years of overall experience in an equivalent position
Proven sales track record in a new product/new market environment
Technical Knowledge & kills:
Commercially astute with a strong trading emphasis
Product knowledge abilities
Product, category & channel management skills
Strong negotiating skills
Strong vision, analytical, communication and people skills
Ability to work in a fast pace environment with limited resources
Strong understanding of customer needs and competition

Computer Skills:
