Job Description:
Our client requires a Lead Piping Engineer to join their existing team working on petrochemicals related projects in Saudi Arabia.
Duties
To manage all engineering activities associated with a Major PMC Project as part of an integrated project team.
To monitor and appraise the contractor’s construction performance, and ensure that necessary corrective actions are taken in such areas as safety, quality, planning and scheduling, cost control, subcontract administration and change management
Overall responsibility for piping project execution.
Point of contact for Client Representative.
Co-ordinate all Piping Engineering activities related to PMC scope of works
Report on progress and development weekly to UK home office.
Estimate project man-hour budgets, review budgets with project management and maintain schedule throughout the life cycle of the project.
Undertake all matters related to planning, progressing, reporting, manpower loading and general administration
Compile / develop plans for the production and issuing of the piping deliverables
Supervise creation of project piping material specification, technical design instructions and discipline work practices / procedures, FEED deliverables
Attend and contribute to design / construction project reviews.
Review and check vendor and other discipline document / information for compliance with project specifications and interface with Piping discipline.
Experience and background
Worked as a Piping Engineer on recent very large international onshore projects
Substantial relevant experience on major PMC projects.
Track record of success.
Clearly exhibited ability to develop good working relationships/become a team player
Possess oral and written English language skills required to function effectively within a project team, and to communicate with Project Management, Contractors and Subcontractors
Demonstrated willingness to relocate to work sites worldwide
Degree preferred
Membership of recognised institute
