Description
The field engineer will conduct corrective and preventative maintenance activities on GSM wireless and transmission infrastructure. The Field engineer reports to the Regional Operations Manager.
Responsibilities
The Field Engineer is responsible for onsite Field Operation activities including:
· Work Order handling
· Handle Corrective & Preventive onsite Maintenance
· Field Spare & Faulty part administration (RMA)
· Radio and transmission performance measurements
· Site Inventory handling
· Site Audits as per requirements
· SW (software upgrades of TXN nodes- TN, HC, NERA /MDRS - 3PP, RTN, Huawei TXN nodes etc.)
· After hours, weekends, and holidays Corrective maintenance callouts
Working Relationships
· Liaise with BO.BSS & BO.TRX for troubleshooting, Audits, upgrades etc.
· Knowledge sharing with team & competence development of team mates
· NRO/NDI/SI Managers/TLs - Site Acceptance & handovers to Ops
· Liaison with Front office (FO) for order handling and dispatch acknowledgements
· Ericsson and third party Customer Support - liaise with Back office for pursuing resolutions, TT escalations/follow-ups.
Qualifications
Education
BSC Electrical Engineering or BSC Electronic Engineering
Pertinent Experience
· At least 2-3 years experience either in network rollout, field operations, or wireless infrastructure installation & operations in case of BSC. Engineering.
. At least 5-6 years experience either in network rollout, field operations, or wireless infrastructure installation & operations in case of B. Tech.
Technical Competencies
· Ericsson Indoor/Outdoor GSM RBS operations and maintenance
· Ericsson Mini-Link TN / HC / NERA /MDRS operations and maintenance
. Huawei Indoor/Outdoor BTS 312 & 3102 operations and maintenance
· Good understanding of GSM wireless networking
· Good understanding of Microwave, leased line/VSAT transmission & IP Network
Qualifications
· Ability to multi-task and maintain composure in stressful and demanding work environment.
· Ability to exercise flexibility and resourcefulness (with assistance from others) in challenging / time bound situations
· Ability to work various shifts and be on call as per roster
· Proficient in Computers; especially MS Office applications
Duty Station
. The position will be based in Quetta (Preference would be given to candidate belong from that region, who can speak local languages and well aware of the local customs).
